When my kids went with their dad to the circus, they brought many things home with them. There were peanuts, play swords, balloons and glow sticks. When I saw the glow sticks, it brought back childhood memories that I had of attending the circus with my dad.

I knew that whenever my dad took me to the circus, that I would get a glow in the dark item. Sometimes I got necklaces or bracelets. One year, I even got this stuff you put in your hair that would make it glow in the dark.

My dad passed away about five years ago, and thinking back to the great memories that he and I made together, made me feel really good. He always went out of his way to make me feel special. Our trips to the circus and other outings will stick with me forever. I hope that it is the same for my kids and their father.

It is funny to think that seeing a glow stick would bring back all the memories of the glow in the dark items I got from my dad many years ago. It got me thinking that I need to make sure they have those kinds of memories of me when I am gone. I have implemented a new date night with mom that we do every month. One kid gets to do whatever they want with me one on one for one night every month.
