My brother lost his job and thought that maybe he could fall back on his knowledge of computer servers to help him get a new one. He had been working for a big company that refurbished used iseries servers and used pseries servers and then resold them. He knew that insides and outs of those two servers, but not about much else.

I told him if I heard of anyone that was hiring I would let him know. He called about two days later and said that he got hired by a computer repair company. I asked if he had told them that he only knew about the used iseries and the used pseries and he said that they had been looking for someone to specifically service just those two kinds of servers for about a month.

I could not believe that he went from one job where he refurbished the servers, to another where he fixed them in less than a week. He was even making more money with the new company and had better benefits too.

I was telling this story to my neighbor, and she was shocked to hear that anyone could find a job in this economy so quickly and for more money and better benefits, it is just unheard of.
